Become a Volunteer Firefighter
LWFR is a full service Fire, EMS, and Rescue department and is made up of a group of dedicated volunteer firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians. These well-trained individuals give their time and energy to keep our community safe. Member meet several times per month to train, learn, and prepare for any emergency.

What Does a Volunteer Firefighter Do?

Respond to emergency incidents, e.g. medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, structure fires, brush fires, and rescues

Maintain a positive image for the Fire District while interacting with the community

Interact with the community to educate on fire safety

Attend regular training
Initial Qualifications:
-
Be at least 18 years of age
-
Live in the Lake Wenatchee, Plain, or Merritt communities (some exceptions allowed)

Have a valid drivers license
-
Pass a criminal background check
-
Able to commit time for reoccurring training, community events, and call response

Help with department functions
