Lake Wenatchee Fire Adapted Communities (LWFAC) is made up of residents who want to make our community more wildfire-resilient. They might be Firewise leaders, they might be organizing work parties on their neighbor's properties, or they might be educating people on what to do to prepare their property for wildfire. Becoming a more fire-adapted community will take all of us and there is no "one size fits all" approach; it will take an approach as unique as the individuals that make up our community.

This graphic was designed to help explain the fire-adapted communities (FAC) framework for community wildfire resilience. The graphic describes a set of components that make up community wildfire adaptation and gives examples of specific programs and activities that communities can undertake to reduce their wildfire risk. Remember, FAC is not a “one-size-fits-all” approach; every community’s journey to living better with fire is unique. This graphic was created by the Fire Adapted Communities Learning Network with input from community-based practitioners from across the United States.
